another haircut.......

Okay..I had finally had enough of the shabby hair and enough of the slicked down look on oneside of his head:)...First day of school I caught Caleb going to the bathroom at school to wet down his hair cause he thought it was sticking up in the back..Well, that day I told him I would take care of that and have his hair cut..well today, I went to pick him up from school to take him for his haircut..good thing I did...his hair when I picked him up from school was "let's just say, it didn't look the greatest"..i'm not kidding..He had snuck gel this morning before going to school and put it on that one spot on the back of his head..Poor guy..it was so stiff just on that one spot..Was so glad to get that hair cut..She could have went shorter and that would have been fine..but I guess it will do for now..Hopefully this cut will not make him go and slick down anymore for awhile at least:)

Back to School for the Kidd's

Today the kids started back to school for the 2009-2010 school year..It's hard to believe that Caleb is going into 4th grade and Gracie is going into 1st grade..Time is flying by....This morning Gracie woke up and said" Is it time to get up??"..She was ready to go!.She told her brother to "get up it's time to get ready for school"..They were no trouble this morning..They both cooperated very well and gave us no problems at all.(Let's see what that's like in a couple of weeks:)..Caleb loves sleeping in so I doubt this lasts very long:)Here are a few pics I took this morning..Had to get inside pics being it was soaking raining outside..But that didn't seem to bother the kids..Praying this is a great school year!

My Ma...

Ma has been in the hospital today for 10 days..Bless her heart!!She has come along way since Friday before last..She is still very slow but is now eating and drinking more than she was..She has even been sitting up in her chair some..Pa and Ma are hoping she will be released tomorrow..We are praying for that..and she keeps asking us to pray for her to go home..She is such a blessing in my life..She may not remember everything you tell her today that happens today but she sure knows what happened way back when we we were all little and when she was little..If she tells me the same story over and over it really don't matter because at least I can hear her tell me the same story..I love her so much and pray for God's will in her life..I'm thankful to HIM that she seems to be soo much more peaceful and at ease the last several days..That in itself is answers to prayers..I took a couple of pics from our visit this weekend..She loves her family..that's for sure..And we love her.

Amusement Park Fun

Friday was our last Family Day before School Starts...We wanted to do something fun with the kids..Our original plan was to take them to the Washington Zoo and then to an Orioles game that night;however the rain forecast prevented us from doing that..So Matt's idea instead was to take the kids to Kings Dominion. We have season passes to Busch Gardens and Water Country and have been many times this summer..Matt was wanting a change of "scenery" so that's what we did. The kids had a great time..It was not many people there, in fact Matt and I said it looked like a ghost town..But that made it even better for waiting in lines..It was a fun filled day..Here are some pics of our day:

Pastor Appreciation Sunday

Yesterday GB West honored Matt and our family with a special pastor appreciation day. It was a great service. We are so blessed to be part of such a wonderful congregation of people and to serve alongside them in the Kingdom of God. After church we all went out to the 4H center for an afternoon of fellowship. The food was great and the fellowship was just as great. I wanted to share a slide show of the pics from yesterday..The ones from the church service are kind of blurry and not very good quality but the ones from the picnic turned out alittle better. Thanks to all who made yesterday such a special day..You all are great and we love you dearly.

Friday Night Happenings

Last night Matt and I attended the GBCOG Pastor Appreciation Dinner/Movie in VA Beach. It was a fun night..You never know what to expect with those folks:)We get there and find out we are paired off into three separate groups of 4..They sent us on a scavenger hunt..We had to leave in a car and had an hour to get everything done on the list..all people had to complete 2 tasks and all tasks had to be videotaped by another person..Some of our tasks included:
1)getting a stranger to give us 38 cents
2)buy 1 grape and get a receipt for it
3)go thru a McDonald's drivethru and tell the person "I Love U".they had to say "I Love U 2"
4)do a chinese firedrill at a stoplight
5)get a policeofficer to give u a hug
6)get a sales associate in a store to sing Amazing Grace with you
THere were several others..
It was a trip to say the least but was all fun.

We got back to the house and had a great Steak Dinner..The volunteers who helped with this did a great job..Everything was wonderful.

After dinner we got to watch the "movie"..All of our video taped tasks..It was a trip..The winners ended up being Group 1 which did not include myself or Matt but that's okay..They all got $25 a piece..

It was a great night!
