Student of the Month

Who got Student of the Month in Ms.Bellocks' first grade class??You guessed it...Miss Gracie Kidd! This mommy was sure proud of her little girl. This year Riverdale has started something new by recognizing a boy and a girl from each class each month for their achievements, behavior, etc..Gracie was the girl picked from her class..They had a little ceremony this afternoon at school for those students and the principal and assistant principal presented them with a certificate. Gracie's teachers comment on her certificate stated"Gracie is a model student who always goes above & beyond to help her neighbors"..THat's my girl! Way to go Gracie Kidd! I love you..

Girls Day Out

Well last Saturday was the boys day out, so this Saturday it was our turn for a Girls Day out. My friend Lisa asked me and Gracie to come along with her and her daughter Madelyn to see Disney on Ice. This was to be a surprise for the girls! And it was! We left about 9:30 that morning and told them we were going somewhere special..They thought maybe the mall?Not..Gracie even said skating..not..and Madelyn mentioned a fashion show..Well, To say the least they were tickled pink when we got there and they found out they were going to see Disney on Ice. They had a ball..me and Lisa even had fun:)..I love stuff like that anyway. Here are some pics of the "special day"..Enjoy!

Praying for Ma

Today My Ma had a heart catherization at the Heart Hospital in Norfolk. She came through that procedure okay, thank the good Lord! (I'm so thankful for the many friends who were praying today...)I know God heard those prayers..as he anwered them by being with her..They determined she has 100% blockage in her main artery of the heart and 80%-90 %blockage in the other 2 arteries. Bypass surgery is out of the question with her health and age. The only thing they can do now is to treat her with medications. We all agree that we just enjoy the quality of life now with her while she is still here with us. I told someone today, none of us are guaranteed our next breath...so we just have to trust God who knows all and sees all..I was able to go and visit Ma this past Sunday night in Emporia Hospital while she was there..I was able to go to "Arts and Crafts" with her then..She was in such good spirits and I loved every minute I was there with her..I cherish all the time..and will continue to do just that.."Thank you God for this day and for being with my Ma today..and for continuing to have your hand upon her..." here are a few pictures I took from Sunday:
